"Time is money "
Both are old sayings that I still hear to this day and have truth behind it. Looking at it from a subjective viewpoint, money defines success in present day society. Not only do people look towards money for wealth, but for power as well. It is hard to correctly define money. Some would take the technical approach and say its a representation of golf backed by the government, but with rising inflation rates and heavy amounts of debt due to credit, money has become the epicenter of our culture. We gawk in awe of celebrities who own million dollar mansions, and don't bat an eyelash while walking past a homeless person. We as Americans spend millions of dollars eating out and throwing away food while kids starve in third world countries. We often take money for granted because we grew up in a money-hungry society. Everywhere you look, money is a part of something. We see adults pushing kids to stay in school and get a degree. Of course it is in every parent's best interest to parent their kids and help them become successful in whatever they do, but we do it with money in mind. We want our kids to graduate college and get a degree so that he won't have to make minimum wage at a fast food restaurant. But there is where the point is often missed. Life isn't about money. Life isn't about the accumulation of it or your ability to save it. Money is a symbol of power that will never fade as long as people have an incentive to obtain it.
